Plumbing Videos on YouTube Saved the Day! - Candle wax in sink drain!

So... 3rd day of the new year is fighting back against my optimism! :P Serpentine belt in our Jeep split and flew off. Said belt should appear in this picture, but is in our snow covered driveway instead. Car stuck down the street without power:

And then a candle I left near the bathroom sink melted dripped a ton of wax into the drain pipe causing the craziest clog ever.

BUT

Thanks to these wonderfully informative YouTube Plumber videos the problem was fixed in under an hour:

After doing both of these things I found the wax had solidified in the trap and after some chipping away with a butter knife I dislodged it and the rest of the pipe was clean! I can see how this knowledge is going to come in very handy in the future.

So, thank you, OnceNForAllPlumbing for saving the day!

Also, here's a picture of a giant icicle I took today. Have I ever mentioned that this is a RANDOM blog?

  1. That's a very practical thing you did there! At least you didn't have to pay for professionals to do the job! It's great when you have someone at home who's very resourceful and handy.

As a homeowner, it is important that you know how to do simple repairs at home. You can do some immediate patch up jobs on your plumbing while waiting for professional help. [Althea Tumlin]
